Rickey Henderson
Rickey Henderson is a former professional baseball player and widely regarded as one of the greatest leadoff hitters in the history of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on December 25, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois. Henderson played in the MLB for 25 seasons from 1979 to 2003, primarily as an outfielder.
Throughout his career, Henderson set numerous records and achieved remarkable accomplishments. He holds the all-time record for stolen bases with 1,406, more than 50% higher than the next player on the list. He was known for his speed, agility, and baserunning skills, and his ability to disrupt opposing teams with his stolen bases.
In addition to his stolen base record, Henderson also holds the record for career runs scored with 2,295. He was a 10-time All-Star, won the American League MVP award in 1990, and won two World Series championships with the Oakland Athletics in 1989 and the Toronto Blue Jays in 1993.
Rickey Henderson's electrifying style of play and his impact on the game earned him widespread recognition and respect. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009, his first year of eligibility.
