Trot Nixon

Trot  Nixon is generally regarded as one of the most underrated players in  baseball history.   The original Dirt Dawg, he played the game no sabertician could quantify.  Sweat on his cap, dirt on his pants, and with his heart on his jersey - Trot is considered by Bill Murphy to be THE GREATEST PLAYER in baseball history.

It was clear that new ownership was full of shit and didn't know what they were doing when in 2005 they replaced Nixon with JD Drew.  Since that day, they may have won another world series or whatever, but the Red Sox haven't been the same.

It is widely accepted that the release of Trot Nixon has cursed the Red Sox ownership with limp dick.
